Fees
We publish our fees so that you know the cost before you book.
Root canal treatment, molar — $2,980
Root canal treatment, all other teeth — $2,390
Consultation only — $485
Treatment started, tooth found to be cracked or untreatable — $840
Fees current at September 2026. Both treatment fees include the consultation charge. There is no separate consultation fee on top.
The fee does not change if treatment takes more than one visit. Retreatment is charged at the same rates as above.Item numbers for retreatment vary considerably from case to case, so we quote for these individually. To prepare that quotation we need a detailed referral from your Dentist and a good radiograph, so that we can assess what is actually being asked of us.

Extra items
Sometimes a tooth turns out to have more canals than expected, or needs additional work we could not see at the outset. Where we can, we will add the relevant item numbers so that you can claim them. The fee you were quoted does not increase when we do this.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept EFTPOS, MasterCard, Visa and cash. Please pay us first, then claim from your health fund. We are not able to bill your fund directly. We have no arrangement with any health fund and we do not use HICAPS. We are not in anyone’s preferred provider network, and what we recommend to you is not affected by one.
Missed appointments
We don’t charge a missed appointment fee. We do book a full hour for you, though, and that hour cannot be given to anyone else at short notice. If appointments are missed, we may not offer another one, and will suggest you see another Practice instead.
If you need to change or cancel, please call or text us as early as you can. We understand that things come up.
Costs that are not ours
Once we have finished, your tooth will need a final filling or a crown. That work is done by your own Dentist and is charged separately by them.
Please ask your Dentist what that will cost, so that you understand the total before you commit to anything. It is a significant part of the overall figure and we would rather you knew about it early.
What we cannot promise
We will do our best to save a tooth that is already compromised. Endodontic treatment is not always successful. Cracks or future decay can let bacteria back into the roots. Sometimes there are spaces inside a tooth harbouring bacteria that we cannot reach. Sometimes infection sits beyond the end of the root and can only be dealt with surgically or by extraction. Rarely, an instrument used to clean a canal will fracture and prevent complete disinfection of the remainder. File fracture is uncommon, but it is a risk inherent in root canal treatment.
If you have periodontal (gum) disease, that may lead to the loss of the tooth in the longer term regardless of what we do.
We would rather set this out plainly before you decide than have it come as a surprise afterwards.
